SIP offered a cultural tourism feast during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday that lasted from May 31 to June 2. Statistics show that the Jinji Lake Scenic Area and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort in SIP recorded 920,000 tourist arrivals during the holiday, up 8% year-on-year, and 11 major hotels in these areas reported an operating income of RMB11.63 million.

The 2025 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race was a major attraction. Held on the first day of the holiday, it consisted of a series of races between 69 teams composed of 1,502 members. About 30,000 people watched the races on site, and 18 online platforms live-streamed them.

The fairs and bazaars held at the same time, incorporating intangible cultural heritage, creative cultural products, music and food, played a big part in boosting consumption.

Subsidies for cultural tourism consumption were offered through the “Travel in SIP” WeChat mini program, and the “Tour Around Cards (Zhuan Zhuan Ka)” enabled the buyers to tour six major tourist attractions at favorable prices.

Diverse events such as the Waterfront Concert, the Dang Dang Life Festival and an assortment of performances and exhibitions also contributed to the surge of spending during the holiday.

Moreover, since the International Children’s Day fell on the second day of the holiday, many hotels provided tailored services for children, like the Kid’s Brunch offered by W Hotel Suzhou and various DIY activities held in different hotels.
